Dominic Scelzi may sound like a familiar name... He is the son of Julianne Scelzi, Owner of RRT and Gary Scelzi, 4X NHRA World Champion. Dominic is also in charge of our Business
Development at Red Rose Transportation. Outside of working here at RRT, he also a races Sprint Cars professionally (Pretty cool right?!).
Dominic has been racing for 20 years! This will be his 10th year racing Sprint Cars, but he started racing at the age of 6 in go- karts before moving on to Microsprints and then sprint cars and midgets at 14.
The Red Rose Transportations sponsored race time has BIG goals for 2023! Dominic will be competing for his 3rd NARC Championship this year with some of the best talent in California. Dominic previously won the Championship in 2021 and 2022 with Crew Chief Jimmy Carr. The only other drivers to win 3 consecutive championships are Brent Kaeding (winning a total of 26) and Bill Sullivan. Dominic will again be competing this race season on the West Coast, making trips to Oregon, Washington and Arizona.
FUN FACT- One of the most asked questions Dominic gets, is where the number 41 came from. Team owner, Gary Scelzi, professionally raced in the NHRA from 1997-2008 collecting 4 World Championships in both Top Fuel and Funny Car... which means 4 times Gary was the number 1 guy in his NHRA Class. In turn, the Gary Scelzi Motorsports team number became 41!
